So, you all know that I’m a big fan of going to the gym at college. You should also note that I workout in the morning three times a week because I love getting my workout done early in the morning (it makes me feel more accomplished). But, I also have to go to classes and I don’t always have a ton of time to redo my makeup before class (or before other activities).
So, over the past few months at college, I have come up with a makeup routine that lasts me from the moment I step foot into the gym until the moment I wash my face before bed. It’s also a super quick makeup routine because who wants to spend ages putting on makeup just for it to get ruined when you get sweaty (no one? that’s what I thought).
If you know me, then you know that my makeup routines are fairly simple– brows, lashes, lips. So, I do my gym makeup in the same way. I have a go to waterproof mascara, a really nice brow gel, and a lip balm during my workout (and a multistick for after my workout). I have been trying a bunch of different products throughout the years and these are my current favorite gym makeup products.
Let’s take a look at them, shall we! Continue reading “Gym Makeup Essentials”
Why hello there, my lovely friends! So, as you may know, I’m living in the city now and have been testing the waters of Chicago’s food industry– and I have to say that Chicago has some bomb food spots sprinkled throughout. And, since I’m in the spirit of giving, I decided to share my current guide to Chicago. I have included a few different spots (seven of them to be exact) that have made me want to spend all of my money at all of these places.
For this guide, I did a mix of healthy and “treat yo self” spots because I can’t resist an Ann Sather cinnamon roll (literally the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had). But, I will come out with another guide with all healthy spots that I love, so stay on the look out for that!
So, without further ado, let’s get into my favorite spots in Chicago:

Fun fact: I’m a broke college student. I don’t have all the money in the world to just go to Lululemon on the regular and pick up a brand new pair of $98 leggings (but I do desperately wish I could tbh). I am currently trying to save my money so that I can do one workout class a month and eat at some healthy restaurants.
So, being a broke college student AND a workout clothes enthusiast isn’t necessarily the best combo for me. (It’s actually a really dangerous combo that I don’t recommend any college student fall into because you have to eat too, my friends. Nourish yourselves!)
While my desire for new workout clothes seems to increase when I take a walk through the city and see all of the athlesiure, I went on a hunt for 15 affordable workout clothes (plus a bonus water bottle because this water bottle is so stinking cute that I just couldn’t resist) that were under inexpensive and actually cute (and functional, of course) because I needed to find a way to find cute activewear that isn’t making my bank account cry. This desire lead me to the Magnificent Mile (and to a Ghirardelli because who can’t resist the peppermint bark chocolate squares?) to check out some stores that I thought would have some affordable workout clothes.

I told you that this moment was coming. And it has finally arrived– I have finally started making microwave meals. For the first half of my freshman year of college, I really only used my microwave to heat up some popcorn (and one piece of left over pesto pizza because I didn’t want to get up and leave to get food). But, I have finally decided to venture out and try some microwave meals.
I decided to do a baked oatmeal for my first microwave recipe because I love oatmeal and I really wanted to figure out how to make a delicious baked oatmeal in minutes. This recipe is super easy and you can totally make it during those mornings when you accidently sleep through your alarm and you really only have 15 minutes to get ready and make breakfast– just throw on an outfit, put on some mascara, mix this up, nuke it in the microwave, and sprint out the door to your class.
Also, who can’t resist a delicious little mug of oatmeal on a cold, wintery day?
(This recipe is especially good before a big test in your 8am class. This has gotten me through a lot of 8am biology and math tests… I personally make this with blueberries before test day because blueberries are said to be brain food– I’m going to take any advantage I can get when it comes to taking a test. When I found out that Galentine’s Day is a thing, I was super pumped because I am a chronically single person who has a nice group of gal pals that are probably the most underrated people on the planet. Galentine’s Day is a great day (created by the wonderful Leslie Knope) that celebrates the wonderful gals in your life.
And, since it is coming up (and because I love to spoil all of my gals and tell them how much I really cherish our friendship), I decided to make a little gift guide filled with things that your gal pals are going to love.
The great thing about these gifts is that you can customize it for all of your friends. Have a bookworm friend? I’ve got some gifts for her. Have a foodie friend? Girl, I’ve got your back. Need to buy something for that one friend that is super tough to buy for? Look no further.
Just grab one (or a few) of these things, throw on a little post it note or a cute little Valentine, and give it to your favorite gals!
